The #1 Reason Employees Hire Attorneys is …

November 10, 2008 By //  by Director Leave a Comment

Plaintiff’s attorneys tell us the #1 reason injured employees come to them is because they can’t get the information they need from any other source. Someone will communicate with your employees – so, make sure that “someone” is YOU!

Attorneys, friends, and others employees who were injured will be communicating with injured employees. Injured employees will receive messages from billboards, TV, radio and the Internet. Make sure they get YOUR message first.

Some suggested employee communications are:
1- Give workers an employee brochure explaining benefits,
2- require weekly meetings at your facility for all workers on Transitional Duty or Off Work,
3- make a “First Day Phone Call” to find out how they are doing if they don’t come back to work the same day,
4- send a Get Well Card saying they are part of the team and hope they feel better soon, and
5- Most important, give injured workers a CONTACT NUMBER to call if they have ANY questions! You can be sure a plaintiff’s attorney will give them his/her number — so make sure they have yours!

Communication is the name of the game!
