“13 Research Studies to Prove Value of Return-to-Work Program & Gain Stakeholder Buy-In”

This book blew my hair back and is extremely applicable for both life and return to work. Hello, my name is Michael Stack and I’m the CEO of Amaxx. And today we actually wanna talk with you about this little book called as a man to in, and this concept that comes outta the book. I read this past week and totally blew me away. I’ve read it before, but I was just kind of ready for it. I was ready for the message for where I am in my own life and, and on my own, you know, development journey. Let me read you this passage of this first paragraph of the book. It says as a man thinking in his heart. So is he, and of course that comes from the Bible, the book of Proverbs, but not only. So that verse not only embraces the whole of a man’s being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstances of his life.

A man is literally what he thinks his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts. You may be a Bible person. You may not be a Bible person, but the concept that what we think about dictates our habits and dictates our actions, our habits, and our actions then dictate our circumstances and outcome of our life is a powerful, powerful concept. It puts us charge of our own life and in our own outcome, dive into that book. It’s tremendously impactful as it was for me. And hopefully it would be for you, but how does this apply to workers’ compensation? How does this apply to return to work? And it applies very, very well because as a man thinketh, and of course this could be man or woman when James Allen wrote that book, he was talking about mankind. So he wasn’t talking about gender or men or women as a man thinketh in his heart.

So is he as a man thinketh in regards to his return to work as an injured worker. So is he in terms of that outcome? So here’s what I mean by that. When you have an injured worker, here’s a question that I want you to ask him and you will see how this relates. Do you think you will return to work? Do you think you will return to work as a man? Think if in regards to his to return to work. So is he in terms of his outcome? It is literally what he thinks. Do you think you will return to work? You’ve just had this in injury, Mr. Or Mrs. Injured worker. Do you think you’re gonna be able to return to work as an opening question? Do they answer to that question is yes. You’re like, great. Let’s get you into our transitional duty program.

We’ve got a great, you know, relationship with our medical providers. We’re gonna get you set up. We care about you. We want you to be back part of our team. We’re rocking and rolling. If they say, Nope, I do not think that I will ever return to work. Ding, ding, ding, red flag. We’ve got some poor thinking. As Ziegler says, we’ve got some stinking thinking here in regards to our return to work status, we need to bring in some support, we need some case management. We need some cognitive behavioural therapy. You don’t need to fix someone’s entire and set our entire way of thinking. That’s not what this is all about. In regards to our return to work, our job is to get ’em back to function, get ’em back to their baseline of wherever they started, that cognitive behavioural therapy, leveraging case management, leveraging our medical providers, leveraging the experts in this topic can help us do that.

So if the answer to this question is no, let’s bring in some reinforcements and let’s drive this positive outcome as you think it, as you think it’s in his hard. So is he very applicable in terms of life, very applicable in terms of return to work, ask the simple question, set up the timeframe, understand what it is and the resources you need to leverage. Again, my name is Michael Stack and I’m CEO of Amaxx. Remember your work today. Workers’ compensation can have a dramatic impact on your company’s bottom line, but it will have a dramatic impact on someone’s life. This would be great.
