Workers compensation education will be the talk of the town in a pair of Texas cities later this year.
The Division of Workers Compensation (DWC) will host the Texas Workers Compensation Compliance Conference in 2014.
The conference will be held in Austin and repeated in Houston and will inform employers, insurance carriers, health care providers and designated doctors about common non-compliance issues and provide education to assist them in fulfilling their role within the Texas workers comp system.
The DWC also hosts the Texas Workers Compensation Educational Conference to educate workers comp system participants on the laws passed by the Texas Legislature and rules adopted by the agency.
The compliance conference and the educational conference will be held biennially, in alternating years. The next educational conference will be held in the fall of 2015.
The Austin compliance conference will be held Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, 9721 Arboretum Blvd.
The Houston conference will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at the Doubletree Houston Greenway Plaza Hotel, 6 East Greenway Plaza.
