2026 WCRI Preview: What I’m Looking Forward To

There’s nothing more valuable than face to face interactions.

Hello. My name is Michael Stack, and I’m CEO of AMAXX.

And if you don’t know me yet, since two thousand and eight, I’ve helped employers optimize their injury management systems, which is why I’m really looking forward to next week’s WCRI conference in Boston.

Always Room to Learn

No matter how long we’ve been in the industry, one day, multiple decades, there’s always room to learn more.

The Data Perspective

What I particularly like and what I think is really unique about the WCRI conference is the data perspective that they take.

So they’ll be looking at macro issues and then also what does it mean for us in terms of an industry?

What does it mean for employers?

What does it mean for state regulators?

For claims administrators?

How do we take this information and advance our industry forward?

Attendance and Networking Opportunities

I was looking at the agenda.

They have a pretty cool app called the Wova app, which I was just looking at just now.

Four hundred and seventy nine attendees.

Pretty impressive.

I think it’s a record in terms of the, the conference attendance.

So pretty impressive.

Over two hundred companies that are attending.

A lot of different people.

A lot of awesome networking opportunities.

Topics I’m Excited About

But I was looking at the agenda.

And so you’ve got in the morning some topics.

I’m like, “Wow, I’m gonna learn a lot at this upcoming conference.”

You’ve got really health care implications.

So leading off the keynote, talking about the impact of the Affordable Care Act, access to care, hospital closures.

How do these major macro, really national issues impact us in our workers compensation, our employer claims, our claims, our claims administration?

How does that work?

The Session I’m Most Excited About

Which is the session that I’m most excited about is the employer panel that afternoon.

So you’ve got representatives from Disney, from Publix, from Aramark, from Marriott, experts in our industry that are gonna be talking about their day to day interaction.

So a lot to learn.

Gonna be taking a ton of notes.

Why the Format Works

As I said, really cool networking format particularly this one in Boston.

You go out into the lobby.

You have a cup of coffee.

You say hello to people.

It’s approachable.

It’s not like, one of those big national huge national conferences where it’s like, oh my gosh.

Where do I even start?

This whole place is overwhelming.

Approachable.

Pretty easy to talk to people, really easy to connect.

Nice little format, always a conference that I look forward to attending.
