You Can Easily Lose Your Mind Managing Workers’ Comp

Dealing with people is extremely difficult. Hello, my name is Michael stack and I’m the CEO of Amaxx. And today I want to talk about this concept of people management and in that mental health and specifically your mental health, you are the professional that is dealing with people on a day in day out basis. You’re managing work comp claims. You’re helping from a human resources standpoint. You’re coordinating efforts from the adjusters, the attorneys, the medical providers. You deal with people all the time we talk about, and we have been talking about more and more often in our nation, in our country, in our industry about this concept of mental health.

Mental Health is Important for WC Professionals & Injured Workers

We’ve been talking about this concept of mental health and how it’s often perceived in our industry or how it’s been talked about. I have heard the most, not a hundred percent of the time, certainly, but I think more often than not is that mental health is talked about in terms of the injured workers more often talked about in terms of the injured workers, those guys that are injured them over there. Oh yeah. Them over there yet. They, they need a lot of help in the mental health department. They’ve got a lot of stuff going on in their lives. They’ve got psychosocial issues. They’ve got this, they’ve got that. They have a lot going on that they need support in this area.

YOUR Mental Health is Important

What I want to talk to you about in today’s blog is video blog is I want to talk about you. I want to talk about you and I want to talk about your mental health. You’re the one that’s coordinating and supporting all of these different pieces. You’re the one that has a lot of pressure on you. You’re the one that has a lot of demands. You’re the one that also by the way, has a family and has your own health that you’re dealing with and has this, and has that, and has the car and has house and has boom and the kids and you know, all kinds of stuff going on.

When we talk about mental health, the importance of it, how impactful it can be. I want to talk about this in regards to your mental health, because if you’re supporting all these characters, you need to be supporting yourself in this area as well, and be intentional about it.

Be Intentional About Supporting Yourself

Be intentional about supporting yourself in this area. Because the more that you can show up is the better that you can do for these guys. The more that you can show up, the more that you can support your health, the more that you can support your mental and physical health, all the dynamics of what you are bringing to the table is a better job you’re going to do here.

So, so important how you are getting that. I I’ve really been intentional about this in my own life, particularly in the last several years in regards to the demands in my life are increasing. I’ve got kids, I’ve got family, I’ve got house, all the stuff that I talked about you, the same things you got going on is I’ve got going on as well. And the better that I can show up here is the better that I can show up for my family and my business and my people that I work with as well, same applies to me as applies to you.

Figure Out What Works For You

Something I’ve been intentional about something I’ve been really focused on, making sure that I get my breaks in here in order for me to be able to show up for everybody else. Same is true for you. Wanted to put this very important kind of reminder for you that as we talk about mental health, it’s not just about them. It’s not just about they and the other side, it’s about you as well. And the better that you do to support your self it’s the better you’ll support everyone else.
