One person yells ‘we are!’ and the rest of the fans say ‘Penn State!’. Hello my name is Michael Stack and i’m the CEO of Amaxx. Just got back from a pretty fun weekend. Me and a couple buddies from college, from Indiana University where i attended, i’ve been friends with these guys for over 20 years. We went to be the visitors at the Penn State Indiana game this weekend. 105 000 people, oh we got our butts kicked by the way, we lost 24 or nothing. But 105 000 people in this huge massive stadium the buy-in for what they’re putting out onto the team the buy-in to the brand the buy-in to the music the buy-in to the colors was incredible. It got me thinking quite a bit about, maybe not quite a bit but it got me thinking about this buy-in for the brand how do you get this massive stadium, second largest size in the country bought into the brand of Penn State, bought into the blue and white bought into the concept of the nittany lions if you can apply some of those ideals of how do you get this massive city. In a huge fan base everyone sharing, you know, cheering their hearts out for their team.
Can you apply some of those same concepts to your work count program to getting people bought into what you’re trying to do from an injury management standpoint? Get people bought into what your organization stands for from a brand concept. What is your workout brand? What is your workout identity? What is your work comp colors from that concept if you think about a football stadium everyone’s bought into the brand of what’s being put out on the team this is not singular to football or basketball or hockey or tennis or whatever sport it is that you’re attending or cheering. For this concept applies to everything and anything that we’re wanting to get people to buy into and oh by the way in your workout program buy-in is really important.
It’s really important that your employee base is bought into your brand of work management. That they have an expectation, you have an expectation as a Penn State football fan when you go to the game of what that’s going to mean. What you stand for, what Penn State cheer actually means that’s the brand that’s the identity that they’re putting out onto the field and that’s what all those fans are bought into think about that concept of brand and buy-in.
Let’s think about applying it to our comp programs and i want to give you some practical tips on how to get that started first thing i want you to do is Create a name second thing logo third thing colors. What’s the name of your program? You can steal this idea: the acme ipar program injury prevention and recovery program. You can come up with something else. You can come up with the name of your company, it’s the cat program, it’s the jam program, it’s the whatever acronym you want to come up with. With the name, come up with a logo then come up with the colors. Think about this in terms of how it applies to the people in the football stadium it’s the same exact thing. We all understand that concept in terms of sports and the importance of it and the value that it brings.
Apply the same thing to your work comp programs and you will get those similar results to help that program now you still got to put a good product out of the field in terms of following this up on it but it gets you people to buy into what they can expect. Again my name is Michael Stack i’m the CEO of Amaxx and remember your work today and workers compensation can have a dramatic impact on your company’s bottom line but it will have a dramatic impact on someone’s life so be great.
