“Avoid the 3 Primary Reasons Injured Workers’ Hire Attorneys”

Think of your best lawyer joke. I’m going to guess that even though the joke may kill at parties, it probably doesn’t paint attorneys in a positive light. Hello. My name is Michael Stack and I’m the CEO of Amaxx. And I want to talk about today that concept of that attorney relationship, that defense counsel relationship and how important and critical it is to the success of your work comp management program.

Goldilocks Teaches Us The Right Amount of Litigated Claims

It’s often said that if you’re not litigating any claims, if you’re, you’re not having any claims go to litigation, it’s just as bad as litigating every claim. There’s gotta be a balance. There’s gotta be that right level of the Goldilocks relationship. The poor isn’t too hot. It’s not too cold and it’s right in the middle. And that attorney relationship is so key to the success of your litigation management program. So I want to give you one tip today and it’s hire lawyers, hire lawyers and not law firms, hire lawyers and not law firms, hire lawyers and not law firms.

Fiduciary Relationship

So what do I mean by that? Your attorney relationship should be a fiduciary relationship in the sense that this lawyer, this individual person, you know, Mr or Mrs. Jones, you know, who’s ever working with you. You know, this person, this attorney relationship is a lawyer that’s working for your organization that puts your organization’s interests in front of their own. When you think about this in terms of an individual person, that’s working with you, a lawyer that is working with you that can understand your company culture, that can understand how you’re working that community can, can communicate well with you. As far as the employee dynamic that you have within your organization versus a law firm. You know, we work with XYZ law firm out of Chicago or Atlanta or Detroit or wherever their law firms based out of this is cold. This is one, this is impersonal corporate. This is personal and connected to an ultimate goal. As far as what you’re working for.

The Best Attorneys Build Relationships

I didn’t come up with this myself. I came up with this from working with some of the best attorneys in the country, defense attorneys and planets fraternities that talk about this, that work with some employer, clients that I work with that understand this dynamic that do work as a fiduciary relationship and have tremendous success. And they’ve been around the block and they understand the difference. And I’ve seen this in action, hire lawyers, not law firms.
