The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) in Ontario, Canada has introduced a new Grants Program that invites highly practical expert research studies and training initiatives that are designed to enhance return-to-work and recovery outcomes within Ontario’s workplace compensation system.
Interested applicants can find more information, including the initial proposal form, on the WSIB website. The deadline for submitting initial proposals is March 4, 2016.
“The WSIB’s Grants Program ensures a fair process to select proposals that will support and improve Ontario’s compensation system,” said David Marshall, WSIB President and CEO. “The central priority of the program is Return to Work and Recovery, and we expect innovative proposals from leading experts who can deliver practical results.”
The WSIB accepts the following types of proposals:
• Highly practical, expert research studies
• Workplace-based projects that establish partnerships between the workplace, researchers and organizations
• Training initiatives delivered by highly qualified professionals that resolve long-standing barriers or address emerging issues
The WSIB Grants Program involves a rigorous and transparent proposal selection process.
Initial proposals (accepted until March 4, 2016) will be reviewed by the WSIB Grants Evaluation Committee, and successful applicants will be invited to submit more information by May 27, 2016. The first grant recipients will be announced in the fall of 2016, and information about recipients and awards will be made publicly available on the WSIB website.
The WSIB enters its second century of service to Ontarians as a more responsive and financially sustainable organization, offering faster and better care for injured workers and more support and predictability for employers.
