Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson recently announced the appointment of Delora Newton as the new Workers Compensation (WC) Division Administrator.
“Delora Newton has an extensive background in the public and private sectors in Wisconsin, and I am pleased she will bring her leadership skills and talents to the Worker’s Compensation Division,”Newson said. “Her experience in executive-level communications, strategic planning, budget management and external relations will be an asset to the Division and our agency.”
Newton has worked at DWD since July 2014 in a variety of roles for the Administrative Services Division and Secretary’s Office.
Before that, Newton was Vice President of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce from 2006 to 2014. She also worked directly for former Governor Tommy Thompson as well as for a Lieutenant Governor, senator and representatives.
The WC Division administers programs designed to ensure that injured workers receive required benefits from insurers or self-insured employers; encourage rehabilitation and reemployment for injured workers; and promote the reduction of work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths.
