The WCB of Nova Scotia (Canada) is getting set to follow a new path over the next five years with the recent Board of Director’s approval of its Strategic Plan 2016-2020.
According to officials, there has been incredible progress in Nova Scotia over the past several years when it comes to workplace safety and return to work, with officials adding this needs to continue.
As officials noted, “Strategic relationships and partnerships are built in to how we do business now – we achieve our business goals when we partner with others.
“And, we know we must continue our strong risk management and financial oversight which have moved us so much closer to full funding, since being only 27% funded in the early 1990s.
“During the planning process, we heard from hundreds of stakeholders. They told us that whatever we do won’t be enough if we don’t evolve the way we provide service today.
“That’s why modernization is such a key part of our new direction. We are no longer meeting the expectations of employers, workers and service providers when it comes to our service processes, and the technology that supports them. We aren’t accessible enough, we aren’t connected enough, and we make things more difficult than they need to be because our technology is holding us back.
“Our new plan sets a vision for significant, needed change to modernize our organization.”
