The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) recently updated the Workers Compensation Practice and Procedure Guide to reflect 2011 and 2013 changes in the Kansas workers comp laws and regulations.
The guide is now available on the agency’s website at http://www.dol.ks.gov/Files/PDF/kwc14.pdf.
This guide provides assistance to attorneys and others who appear before the Workers Compensation Division when settling issues between employers and injured workers.
An introductory explanation of preliminary hearings has been added along with clarification on reporting accidents.
Several new topics have been added including local rules for three administrative law judges, Appeals Board procedures including guidelines for submitting briefs to the Board, office locations for the main and regional offices, and a staff directory.
