The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) reports that continuing through early Q1 2015, it will be releasing updates to four data reporting guidebooks, located in the Manuals Library on ncci.com.
Upon release of each enhanced guidebook, this feature article will be updated.
Highlights of these manual enhancements include:
• Available—Unit Statistical Reporting Guidebook—This release is an entirely new edition of this guidebook, which includes:
o Revised Table of Contents outline structure
o New and updated content throughout to improve ease of use and to better supplement the Statistical Plan
o New Summary of Examples table organized alphabetically with listing of location in the guidebook
o New and enhanced reporting examples and record submission requirements
• Available—Financial Call Reporting Guidebook—In preparation for the 2015 Financial Call reporting season, this guidebook has been updated. Highlights include:
o Enhanced Premium Component Summary Chart
o Enhanced Financial Data Reporting Workflow Diagram
o Clarification on loss reporting to include subrogation and other recoveries

• Now Available—Policy and Proof of Coverage Reporting Guidebook—This new edition for this guidebook includes new, revised, and streamlined content as follows:
o New Data Element Requirements (by record and transaction type) section—includes state-specific information
o New Assigned Risk reporting rules section—includes reporting requirements and examples
o New Policy Data Dictionary—includes a complete listing of all policy data elements and coding values
o Updated Federal Coverage Service section—includes requirements for Defense Base Act reporting
• Pool Data Reporting Guidebook—This guidebook will be updated to include a variety of reporting clarifications:
o New information on reporting requirements for NPX data components
o Additional reporting details on Subrogation Expense and Subrogation Recovery
o New Premium and Loss-Based Tax and Assessment section
o Reorganized Edit Matrices section for ease of access, including a new Future Pool Data Edit Matrix to identify upcoming edit changes
NCCI gathers data, analyzes industry trends, and prepares objective insurance rate and loss cost recommendations.
