The opportunity to learn more about the field of workers compensation is coming soon to the Lone Star State.
The Division of Workers Compensation (DWC) will host the Texas Workers Compensation Compliance Conference in 2014. The conference will be held in Houston and will inform employers, insurance carriers, healthcare providers and designated doctors about common non-compliance issues and provide education to assist them in fulfilling their role within the Texas workers comp system.
The DWC also hosts the Texas Workers Compensation Educational Conference to educate workers comp system participants on the laws passed by the Texas Legislature and rules adopted by the agency. The compliance conference and the educational conference will be held biennially, in alternating years. The next educational conference will be held in the fall of 2015.
Event Set for Oct. 21
The Houston conference will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Doubletree Houston Greenway Plaza Hotel, 6 East Greenway Plaza. Registration is $300 per person. The registration fee includes conference materials and special functions, including one continental breakfast and one luncheon. Business casual attire is appropriate for all functions.
The conference will feature a general session and 12 breakout sessions, as well as exhibitors offering workers comp-related products and services. Conference participants may be eligible for continuing education credits.
