WC Expert Offers 5 Methods to Reduce Litigation Costs

Barbara Galluppi is a top claims expert in the insurance industry and knows how companies can avoid litigation and reduce related expenses, so she speaks from experience. She calls it "damage control." She's agreed to tell us the best ways to reduce litigation expenses and improve management of litigated claims. She breaks these down into five categories. Starting Monday, we'll discuss them separately in this mini-series. The areas are:

  1. Avoid litigation altogether by improving employer-employee relations
  2. Control legal costs ("damage control" as Barb calls it)
  3. Attorney control
  4. Management of legal fees
  5. Defense participation

These are complex areas of WC cost containment, so we'll tackle each on separately starting Monday. Barbara Galluppi, CPCU, is Area Senior Vice President Claims at Arthur J.
