If you don’t have a clear destination and vision for where you’re going, you’ll never get there. Hello my name is Michael Stack and i’m the CEO of Amaxx and happy new year to you and to your family and friends. January 3rd 2022, getting out of the gates here in the first business day of the year. As we think about the start of this year we have to think about where is it that we’re going and what are our goals for the year. So often, people get caught in the resolution game “oh i’m going to set new year’s resolution”, “oh i’m gonna exercise more”, “oh i’m gonna eat healthier”, “oh i’m gonna spend more time with my family”. Whatever it is that the goal is for you and oftentimes the percentages will show that people oftentimes just stop making resolutions they’re like ah forget it i’m not exercising anymore you know that is just a pipe dream. By the end of January you know i’ll be done with that so people don’t even try anymore to set those resolutions.
What i’m talking about here is creating a vision and what you’re going to find out is that the same idea as we talk about 2022, creating this vision for where you want to go fully applicable to your work comp programs and just as important and maybe even more important because as we look at our work comp programs, it’s not only us, it’s not only individually “I want to exercise more”, “I want to eat healthy”. Okay great, that’s my resolution, that’s where what maybe my vision is or your vision is for your life as you start this new year when you’re doing a workout program. It’s more than just you. There’s a whole team of people involved and you need to have this clear vision of where you’re going so your team can get engaged and get involved in what it is that you’re trying to accomplish as an organization.

If you don’t have this clearly defined out of the gates as you start this year for your work comp program, you will never get there because you need to have people engaged. One more little quick tip on this again, this is workout program and personally what have you accomplished? What were the things that you did well last year? What were the things that you did well and how do you know this is both financially in your work comp program, in your health, in any circle of your life any different area, What have you accomplished? write these things down. What were those goals that you set that you achieved and exceeded? What were those goals that you set and maybe you didn’t live quite up to but you did make some progress in some of those areas?
We need to document what we accomplished and when we’re talking specifically about work comp program document. When you’re done documenting what you’ve accomplished, how have you taken steps to achieve this vision? I will tell you in work comp programs, this is so often missed and not anything we’re compromised in most people’s lives. This is so often missed. We’re always looking towards that next mountain over there and we don’t look back and say whoo that was a pretty big mountain that i just climbed right there. So you know good job for me and same thing in your comp program as you’re talking about this, your team needs to know oh yeah we did some things really well we did some things really well this year. We improved our lag time, we improved our return to work ratio, we improved our costs you know by 10 or 15 or x percent whatever it is that we did, we added you know a new partner on our program and they’re really helping to engage our team and help us get some results what were those accomplishments. These are equally as important for the vision for where you want to go. Great time of the year. Really exciting time of the year. Whole new possibilities holding visions for where we’re going to go take the time document your accomplishments, document your vision for where you want to go and bring your team on board and it will lead to a very happy and healthy 2022.
