Three people and two companies will enter pleas on November 8 on charges stemming from the deaths of two young adults in Nova Scotia.
The bodies of Kyle Elliott, 22, of Brentwood and Mandi Balagot, 18, of Hilden were found July 19 at a maintenance shed in MountThom. (WCxKit)
According to The Canadian Press, the RCMP determined their deaths were accidental, but the Labour Department alleged a generator was improperly installed and not operating within the directions of the manufacturer.
The three people charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are Reuben Burge of Green Hill, Josh David Smeltzer of Westville, and Douglas Gordon Vohs of Lyons Brook.
They are each charged with failing, as an employee, to take every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of other people at or near the workplace.
RMSEnergy Ltd. is charged with failing, as an owner, to take every reasonable precaution to provide and maintain the premises in a manner that ensures health and safety. (WCxKit)
Rotor Mechanical Services Ltd. faces a number of charges, including failing, as an employer, to ensure a gas generator was properly installed and operated.
