Going Live! The Implementation Phase
Your training is complete and your workers’ compensation program is ready to be adopted in full. Tracking methods are implemented and all forms are available and ready for use.
Once you have your assessment and recommendations, you will invite all divisions to a kick-off meeting or conference call to begin the implementation phase of the injury management program.
Customized a kick-off letter for your business and invite your operating units to participate in the transition from planning an injury management program to implementation. You might say something like this:
Explain in the letter: Here’s What You Need to Do. “There are a few things you’ll need to do:”
1. Choose a site assessment leader. This person has access to the log in and password and is responsible for completing the assessment.
2. Please reply to this email and provide the site assessment leader’s name, site location, telephone number and email address. Once we have a complete list of the site assessment leaders, we will provide you with a CONFIDENTIAL user name and password for use only by the assessment leader.
3. If a site has more than one person involved in workers’ compensation, then a group meets to agree on assessment responses.
4. The assessment can be completed in stages or all at once. Click “save and continue” or “save and return” at the end of each section. (workersxzcompxzkit)
5. Your help with this assessment will provide a clear-cut picture of workers’ compensation practices at our company. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Here’s an example, from a project I did:“We have purchased a web-based workers’ compensation assessment tool to help us reduce our workers’ compensation costs. The assessment consists of a series of questions about practices and procedures impacting our workers’ compensation costs. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Each site should take the assessment and get their National Workers’ Compensation Management Score. The scores range from 1-100 points. You will also get a set of Best Practice Recommendations to improve your score and reduce your workers’ compensation costs and can immediately begin discussing and making changes at your operating unit.”
