Man Nabbed in Workers’ Compensation Scheme
A Tallahassee man was taken into custody for allegedly pocketing close to $1,000 in fraudulent workers’ compensation claims.
According to authorities, the 54 year old man is charged with grand theft and workers’ compensation fraud for allegedly filing excessive mileage reports related to visits to doctors in Panama City.
Authorities say he worked as an electrician when he was injured on a job site. He allegedly turned in paperwork where 12 of his 55 trips to see a doctor lacked back up documentation. He also allegedly lied about the mileage on a number of his documented trips to the tune of more than 2,000 miles.(workersxzcompxzkit). A jury trial is set for early August.
